Developer: William Grant & Sons
Alcoholic grade: 40°.
Peculiarities of the elaboration: William Grant was born in Scotland in 1839. Grant's young man worked at Mortlach Distillery and dreamed of running his own distillery one day. In 1886, Grant and his nine children laid the foundation stone of the Glenfiddich Distillery: on Christmas Day 1887, the first spirits came out of their stills. In 1892, William Grant & Sons bought a second neighboring distillery called Balvenie, and in 1898 the two distilleries began to mix their whiskeys: William Grant's whiskey was born. This reserve is a mixture of malt and grain whiskeys.
Tasting notes Whisky William Grant's Family Reserve:

Amber color with ocher sparkles, clean and bright.

Delicate, with aromas of caramel, nuts (nuts, hazelnuts) and spices (vanilla, nutmeg).

It is sweet at the entrance and in the step, with smoky notes and peat, something astringent and elegantly sharp. In retronasal memories of caramel, vanilla and raisins return.
Uses in cocktails: Manhatan.
Ingredients: 1½ oz. of blended whiskey, ½ oz. of sweet vermouth, a few drops of angostura bitters, 1 cherry.
Preparation:
- Mix the ingredients well with several ice cubes.
- Serve strained in a cocktail glass, very cold. Decorate with cherry.
- One variation is dry Manhatan, substituting sweet vermouth for dry vermouth and garnishing with a lemon peel instead of cherry.
To enjoy!
