Developer: Stolishnaya Distillery
Alcoholic degree: 40°.
Peculiarities of the elaboration: Moskovskaya is one of the first Russian brands of vodka, created in 1894 by the Russian state, which boasted the monopoly of commercial production of vodka in Russia. It was the famous Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev who established that the best alcohol content for vodka is 40 degrees, and as a demonstration of his scientific model, he created the vodka Moskóvskaya formula, considered a model vodka. The formulas of Stolíchnaya and Moskóvskaya are part of the National Treasury of Russia. Its production was interrupted (along with that of other high-ranking beverages) after the dry law imposed at the beginning of the First World War. The brand was re-established in the fledgling Soviet Union in 1925.
The Moskovskaya vodka has been recognized for its green label throughout history. In addition to water and alcohol, the standard recipe includes small amounts of bicarbonate and acetic acid. Currently, the brand belongs to the Soyuzplodimport in Russia and, like many other Soviet brands, has been the subject of numerous legal battles. It has a sister brand, Stolichnaya osobaya vodka, which maintains its composition by changing only the aesthetic of the bottle by a red color.
Moskovskaya is made only with grain of alcohols and is distilled three times to obtain a strong and pure spirit drink. It is carefully balanced with artesian well water by a three stage filtration process that begins with quartz sand and continues with activated carbon before a final filtration through quartz sand to obtain a high purity vodka and a traditional Russian style.
Tasting notes for Vodka Moskovskaya:

Clean, bright and translucent.

Presents a great cleanliness and purity, with memories of white pepper and some resins or essential oils balsamic (eucalyptus).

It is warm and fresh at the same time, with hints of brioche (grain) and a slightly spicy finish.
