Renewed image
Finca La Capilla presents La Capilla Crianza 2021, the boutique winery from Ribera del Duero presents the new vintage of its most representative wine with a new label image.
Finca La Capilla reaffirms its identity with a modern and elegant design, without forgetting tradition.

With bas-relief details, a sober colour palette and sophisticated typography, this revamped image conveys the quality and depth of a red made exclusively from grapes selected from our own vineyards.
La Capilla Crianza 2021
Wine from our own vineyards, located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, in Roa, Anguix and La Horra.
The grapes are harvested by hand in small batches by parcels. The grapes are quickly vatted, without allowing the grapes to heat up or the must to oxidise.

The year 2021 came with 30% more rainfall on average, but with an irregular distribution. The beginning of September was rainy, which favoured optimal ripening.
This was followed by moderate temperatures and dry conditions, allowing for a slow and leisurely harvest, enabling the fruit to be harvested at the optimum moment of ripeness.
Tasting Note
Deep-coloured wine with a high robe, glyceric and unctuous in the glass.
Intense nose, with sensations of fruity freshness wrapped in a very integrated wood that complements, without masking, the fullness of the Tinta del País varietal in Ribera del Duero.
Fresh and lively on the palate, with elegant complexity, creamy nuances and fine toasted notes. Dense, enveloping, polymerised tannins. Subtle and elegant. Balanced to drink now and with the capacity to age in bottle for several years.
We will enjoy a great wine from a ‘terroir’ of Roa.
Terroir as a guarantee of authenticity and excellence
The plots are clearly differentiated and classified according to their qualitative potential, depending on the type of wine they can produce. This classification responds to numerous physiological parameters, such as orientation, topography, date of planting, type of rootstock, among others. However, the most decisive criterion for zoning and selection has been the type of soil.
In the majuelos (vineyards), there is a notable diversity of soils of high viticultural value, predominantly those of tertiary origin, old, poor in nutrients and with a low organic matter content. Their sandy loam texture favours aeration and drainage, creating ideal conditions for vine cultivation. Particularly noteworthy are the silty sands combined with whitish limestone layers, which give elegance and delicacy to the wines. There are also sandy clays with excellent nutrient retention capacity, which usually give rise to balanced, aromatic wines with great ageing capacity.
In order to protect the vineyards from extreme weather conditions, anti-freeze mills have been installed, which not only mitigate meteorological risks, but also contribute to sustainable cultivation, helping to prevent diseases.
The winery is firmly committed to exploring the potential of its vineyards, developing a constant process of plot selection. This work includes a rigorous evaluation of climatic conditions, soil composition, vine age and yield.
Thanks to this constant effort, it manages to express the full sensory potential of its great wines: La Capilla Crianza and La Capilla Vendimia Seleccionada, the latter conceived as a signature wine. Both are the result of a careful selection of plots and handcrafted vinification in small vats. Their ageing in fine-grained French oak barrels adds a touch of elegance that underlines the wine's complexity and structure.
The winery is located in the charming town of Roa de Duero, the heart of the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology that brings out the essence of each vintage and the unique identity of each plot.
