Peculiarities of the elaboration of Ron Barceló Signio: Barceló & Cía, was created in 1930 by two Spanish brothers, Julián and Andrés Barceló, natives of Mallorca. The same year, the company and the entire city were destroyed by the cyclone San Zenón. Faced with this total devastation, Andrés decided to run his luck on the nearby island of Puerto Rico. Julián Barceló stayed in Santo Domingo, determined to raise his small business again. For that time, Julián visited the towns and the rural areas, promoting and selling his product with the original label that, directly and simply, wore the slogan "the rum that I drink". The company developed to the compass of the city of Santo Domingo, growing until it was established in its permanent location in the eastern part of the city, on the banks of the Ozama River, observing the port and the colonial city. Through the decades, the Barceló name also managed to conquer the national market, manifesting a great growth and expansion as a liquor industry. Julián Barceló retired in 1974. Today, Ron Barceló & Cía belongs to the Marqués de Vargas, Pelayo de la Mata.

Tasting notes for Ron Barceló Signio:
Coppery amber color.
It combines classic aromas with other unusual oak wood European mounts. Notes of wild vanilla, ripe plum, walnut, chocolate butter, coffee, maple syrup and citrus flower.
Round body, elegant demeanor and tasty aftertaste.
Uses in cocktails: A soft rum for double aging, versatile for being perfect for elaborate cocktails or simpler mixtures, and great personality, with the perfect balance between the character of aged rum and the sweet touches that give that unique personality. Its perfect serve is completed with a half slice of squeezed lime and lemon-lime soda, although it was born to be combined with any soft drink or cocktail. A good choice would be the Hurricane cocktail.
Ingredients: 4 measures of rum, 2 measures of passion fruit syrup, 1 measure of lime juice, 1 slice of lime, 1 whole maraschino cherry or cherry.
- Add all the ingredients in a shaker, shake to mix and strain to serve in a tube-type glass with crushed ice.
- Garnish with the slice of lime and cherry maraschino or cherry.
